Anyway, throughout the first issue we learn about The Supers and when they first arrived…we then learn a few other things about Ben, which all leads to a College Campus meeting and a brief glimpse at the future…one that’s quite deadly for Ben, himself….or himselves…muahahahahahaha! PICK IT UP!
I know, I know, I gave up on this one too! But I had a failsafe installed, one failsafe by the name of Comic Smash, my local comic shop. I told the owner if the series impoved, to let me know. He did, and I picked it up….I’m glad I did. The tragedy of this issue is what Dan Jurgens does best, seeing as how he killed superman and all….
Booster Gold is left to pick up the pieces of his fallen team, trying to figure out who did this and why. Some live, some don’t, but every moment is a great read….pick this one up!
I know I’ve mentioned this book before, but as it goes further into it’s run we learn a little more about Shade and why he does the things he does…
James Robinson is a great writer of depthness and quality we don’t usually get on our comic racks every week…thankfully, this series looks to be running for 12 issues, to at least give us a full run to flush out the character and bring some points, that were brought up, to a close. At $2.99…PICK IT UP!
Written (again) by Marv Wolfman with beautifully moody artwork by Tom Mandrake, Night Force is a series that continues to struggle to find an audience. Much like the last run from the 90’s, I’m sure I know why….The writing just isn’t there. No offense to Marv, but the story suffers detail, depth, STORY…I’m just not sure where things are headed and that is NOT a good thing when it comes to a book born from a cult following. Marv, maybe it’s time you hand this title over to someone else….give it a chance to get it’s wings and fly…as it certainly won’t be “flying” off the shelves this time either! ZING!!! Just AVOID this title, save your money.
