Comic Reveiw: Thief Of Thieves #1

Written by Nick Spencer with story by Robert Kirkman, and art by Shawn Martinbrough, Thief of Thieves was a surprisingly refreshing tale of a man trying to lay claim to a family he’s lost along the way.

Sound familar Mr. Ice Cream?!

Anywho, Conrad Paulson — aka Redmond — is a master thief who exists in a criminal world filled seedy people, who all seem to have a secret or two…they are criminals after all! Redmond decides he wants out, and that’s the basis for this story, which seems to have great promise and a fun style of artwork to it, thanks to Shawn Martinbrough.

Reading this story, I couldn’t help but feel that Nick Spencer was channeling Cary Grant.

Not “THAT” Cary Grant!

OK, that’s better!

There isn’t much to go on in this first issue, but we are given the basics, along with an interesting back-story between Redmond and Celia…basically how they met.

Thief of Thieves is light, fresh, and fun…what more can you ask for with a quick $2.99 read from image comics!

Cheers from your comic pal,

Donnie Drama
